Day 01
ARRIVE-DELHI
The capital of incredible India, Delhi, is a city brimming with joy and excitement. Spend an entire day in Delhi exploring the exotic bazars and savouring the delectable authentic Mughlai cusines at Old Delhi.
Day 02
EXPLORE DELHI
This vibrant city of Delhi is always ready to surprise its guests with myriad contrasts and contradictions. . It is a perfect amalgamation of glitzy modernity and timeless tradition. Delhi has been the power center of empires since ages, hence the city lies dotted with a number of great Indian monuments such as the Red Fort, the Humayun’s tomb, the India gate, the Qutub Minar and the Lotus temple. Spend an entire day exploring these monuments. In the evening visit the magnificent Akshardham Temple.
Day 03
DELHI -AGRA
Agra is famous for the legendary Taj Mahal, that was constructed by Shahjahan in the memory of his deceased wife Mumtaz. Aptly known as the ‘symbol of love’, it is said that every tourist must visit the Taj once in his lifetime. fourteenth child. An epitome of true love indeed! It is said that every tourist must visit the Taj Mahal once in his life time. This monument is worth the hype that has ever been showered upon it, so it is not surprising that it found a place in the ‘seven wonders of the World’. But the Taj Mahal is not a standalone attraction. Agra is also known for another phenomenal example of great Mughal architecture, the Agra Fort, which is a massive red sandstone fort built by Emperor Akbar on the banks of the river Yamuna. It is one of the finest forts in the country. The fort was built primarily as a military structure, but Shah Jahan transformed it into a palace, and later it became his gilded prison for eight years after his son Aurangzeb seized power.
Day 04
AGRA -JAIPUR
Next, on route to Jaipur, visit the ghost town of Fatehpur Sikri, which was the short lived capital of Mughal empire during Akbar’s time. This city boasts of a fabulous mosque and three palaces for three of Akbar’s most favourite wives: one Hindu, one Muslim and one a Christian.
Day 05
JAIPUR
The vibrant pink city of Jaipur bears witness to many remarkable victories and conquests. A perfect blend of culture, tradition and modernity, this place is dotted with various monuments of historical significance such as the Amer Palace and the Hawa Mahal. Jaipur owes its name, founding and planning to the great warrior- astronomer Maharaja Jai Singh II.
The Amer Palace is a fine example of traditional Indian art and architecture. A unique aspect of the palace is that natural colours made of vegetables and stones have been used to paint its interiors. Another distinctive and extraordinary example of innovative Indian architecture is the Hawa Mahal or the ‘Palace of winds’. It was constructed in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh to enable ladies of the royal household to watch life and processions of the city. Jaipur is also known for its colourful bazaars, delectable Rajasthani cuisines and the exciting art of puppetry. At night enjoy your dinner at the make believe village of Chokhi Dhani.
Day 06
TRIVANDRUM
Take a flight to Kovalam via Mumbai and Trivendrum. GREEN LAGOONS representative will meet & greet at the Trivandrum Airport & Transfer to the hotel .Check in at the hotel & enjoy the resort activity .
Day 07
KOVALAM
The quaint town of Kovalam has experienced the transition from a sleepy fishing village to Kerela’s most developed resort. The main stretch, Lighthouse beach is a heaven for the tourists as it features a number of hotels and restaurants along the shore.
Day 08
KOVALM – KANYAKUMARI – KOVALAM
Explore Kanyakumari: Take a sceninc tour of the breathtaking Kanyakumari and let it mesmerize you with its enchanting hues and colours. Visit the temple of Kanyakumari (the virgin goddess) who is believed to have fought and slayed a demon singlehandedly. Also visit the Vivekananda Memorial, the Gandhi Memorial and the Kamraj Memorial ( dedicated to K. Kamraj, known as Gandhi of the South).
Day 09
KOVALAM -ALLEPPEY
Leave for Alleppey, Explore Alleppey: you would be transferred to Alleppey (175 KM / 05 Hour 30mns). A perfect rural place is bounded with large water bodies named as Venice of the East. Alleppy Alleppey (Alappuzha) district occupies a prominent place in the tourist map of Kerala interlocked with lakes and canals. The Vembanad Lake stretching up to Kochi, the rivers Achankovil, Manimala and Pamba and a net work of canals in the district are used for inland navigation. On arrival, check into houseboat and spend the day at leisure. Houseboat cruise is the best way to explore the beauty of backwaters. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Enjoy lunch, evening tea/coffee with snacks and dinner on it. Stay overnight in houseboat. Over Night stay at House Boat. Alleppey is known to be the hub of Kerela’s backwaters.
Day 10
ALLEPPEY – THEKKADY
Next visit Periyar which South India’s most popular wildlife sanctuary. The vast region is home to bison, sambar, wild boar, langur, 900 to 1000 elephants and 35 to 40 hard-to-spot tigers. Spend an entire day here, in the vicinity of wonderful nature.
Day 11
THEKKADY -MUNNAR
Thekkady leave for Munnar, which is South India’s largest tea- growing region. Check in to the hotel & day at leisure with misty mountains.
Day 12
MUNNAR
Let the majestic gardens of Munnar enthrall and captivate you with their pristine and untouched beauty. Spend an entire day exploring the enticing tea museum here, which is as close as you’ll get to a working tea factory around Munnar. Also savour the delectable South Indian delicacies here.
Day 13
MUNNAR -COCHIN
Travel to Cochin, a bustling cosmopolitan city in Kerela with a busy port. Kochi’s existence can be summed up in the phrase “A city born in storm, nurtured in rivalry and established as battling ground for European empires.” Spend an entire day in this beautiful city immersing in the surprises it has to offer. Visit the Mattancherry Palace, that was presented as a gift to the Raja of Kochi as a gesture of goodwill by the Portuguese. This place houses some of the most fascinating Hindu murals, depicting scenes from the Ramayana, Mahabharata and other Puranic legends in intricate details. Next visit the Pardesi Synagogue, which eatures an ornate gold pulpit and elaborate hand-painted, willow-pattern floor tiles from Canton, China. Finish your day with a scrumptious meal at the Malabar junction.
Day 14
COCHIN-CALICUT
Next enjoy your travel to Kodungallur that fall on the way to Calicut. Calicut or Kozhikode was a prosperous trading town and the capital of Malabar during the Zamorin dynasty. At Calicut, visit the art gallery to browse through the paintings of Raja Ravi Varma and Raja Raja Varma.
Day 15
CALICUT -WAYANAD -MYSORE
On your way to Mysore from Calicut, visit the mesmerizing Wayanad ghats, which feature nine hairpin bends. Mysore is an ancient city with an extremely rich cultural and historical legacy. It is known for its glittering royal heritage, vibrant market places and magnificent monuments. A trip to South India is incomplete without traveling to Mysore. Take a trip to the Mysore Palace, one of the grandest buildings in India, which was also the former seat of the Wodeyar Mahrajas. Mysore is a house to some of the most exquisite examples of colonial architecture such as the Government House, Silver Jubilee clock tower and the St Philomena cathedral.
Day 16
MYSORE -BANGALORE
Bangalore is best known as the hub of India’s booming IT industry and is generally regarded as one of the most progressive Indian cities. It has an awesome climate and a cosmopolitan culture. Some of the interesting sights in Bangalore are – Lalbagh botanical gardens, Olive Beach, National Gallery of Modern Art and the Cubbon Park.
